Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Product Manager to join the Payments Transformation Payment Services team within the Global Payments & Liquidity (GPL) Product & Platform organization.
This leader will help shape the future of Wells Fargo's payment capabilities and strategic payment platforms, driving modernization initiatives that improve scalability, resiliency, client experience, and speed to market. The role partners across Product, Technology, Operations, Risk, and Business stakeholders to define, prioritize, and deliver payment capabilities that support evolving customer needs, industry standards, and enterprise transformation objectives.
The ideal candidate brings a strong combination of payments expertise, product leadership, strategic thinking, and platform experience. This individual will own product outcomes, influence roadmap direction, and help define the future-state capabilities supporting Wells Fargo's next-generation payments ecosystem.
In this role, you will
- Define and execute product strategy for Payment Services capabilities aligned to business objectives and customer needs.
- Develop and manage product roadmaps, prioritizing features and platform investments that deliver measurable business and customer outcomes.
- Partner with Technology, Operations, Risk, and Architecture teams to design and deliver scalable payment capabilities supporting strategic platform modernization.
- Evaluate market trends, client feedback, regulatory requirements, and competitive developments to influence product direction and roadmap priorities.
- Lead product discovery activities, define business requirements, and translate customer needs into actionable product capabilities.
- Own prioritization decisions and tradeoff discussions across competing initiatives, ensuring alignment to strategic objectives.
- Drive adoption and success of new capabilities through effective stakeholder engagement, business readiness, and performance measurement.
- Establish product success metrics and leverage data-driven insights to continuously improve payment experiences and operational effectiveness.
- Influence cross-functional teams operating within a complex matrix environment to achieve product outcomes and strategic objectives.
- Act as a thought leader in payments modernization, helping shape future-state capabilities across payment platforms, rails, and services.
Required Qualifications
5+ years of Product Management, product owner, strategic planning, process management, change delivery experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education.
Desired Qualifications
- Product management experience within payments, treasury management, transaction banking, liquidity, or financial services platforms.
- Strong understanding of payment products, payment processing ecosystems, and end-to-end payment lifecycles.
- Experience owning product roadmaps, product strategy, feature prioritization, and customer outcomes.
- Knowledge of payment rails and industry standards including Fedwire, CHIPS, SWIFT, ACH, RTP, FedNow, ISO 20022, and related payment infrastructures.
- Experience modernizing payment platforms, digital products, APIs, or capability-based architectures.
- Demonstrated ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive decisions across Product, Technology, Operations, Risk, and Business teams.
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills with ability to evaluate complex tradeoffs and communicate recommendations effectively.
- Experience defining product success metrics and leveraging insights to guide product investment decisions.
- Customer-centric mindset with a passion for solving complex payment challenges through innovative product solutions.
