About The Role
The Senior Manager , Consulting Services should be a “go to” practice leader that provides expert guidance, advice, and development support to the Consulting management team and their subsequent team members . This individual will assist the sales team with sales activities such as oral s , estimations, and Statements of Work (SOW’s). This person works closely with Engagement Managers, Project Managers, Managing Consultants, and leads, and acts as a liaison between the Consulting team and executive management . This person will assist in identifying business needs, staffing projects, and ensuring that the work/life balance of our consultants is monitored and adjusted appropriately.
Key Responsibilities
Project Oversight
- Oversight responsibility for projects across the practice.
- Oversee and assist Engagement Managers and team members when needed to identify project needs, reduce risk and develop solutions and strategies.
Sales Support
- Support the RFP response and pursuit process for Consulting work.
Project Work
- Guide the customer through facilitated design sessions and configuration decisions based on best practices and an understanding of the customer’s unique business requirements at all stages of the project.
- Regularly engage and support the client through all phases of the project, ensuring a smooth transfer from legacy systems to the Workday HCM solution.
- Perform multiple tasks under limited direction, while regularly keeping the client, your project team, and your Engagement Manager abreast of changes or progress related to the project.
- Take a leadership position on a project, or as a Cognizant or Workday product Partner Lead and/or Delivery Assurance Reviewer.
- Display your hands-on expertise of the software, with the ability to configure multiple areas of Workday HCM.
Team Leadership
- Assist in the recruitment, development, and management of a diverse, remote team of consultants supporting Workday applications.
- Promote a team-oriented, challenging and innovative work environment.
- Lead and manage Senior Managers and/or Managing Consultants to ensure consultants to ensure they are adhering to the activities, processes and procedures outlined in Workday and the Cynergy Implementation Methodology.
- Drive team and individuals to achieve high customer satisfaction levels.
- Ability to establish immediate credibility with clients and within the company; can build consensus and achieve goals through influence.
- Ability to build trust-based relationship and identify and foster business development opportunities.
People Development
- Perform role of mentor and coach.
- Analyze team skills and provide for cross training to maintain teams’ ability to staff projects appropriately.
- Advise management team on team members’ level of expertise and availability.
Performance Management
- Establish direct reports’ goals and objectives during the bi-annual review process.
- Direct the collection of performance feedback from customer and engagement/project manager on a quarterly basis or upon completion of project for your entire team.
- Direct the collection of all internal contributions for team members assuring data is received by HR on a quarterly basis.
- Drive bi-annual performance review process for the Consulting team.
Skills & Requirements
- Possess 7-10 years of Workday HCM (or other HCM platform) Consulting implementation experience.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
- Proven experience leading a virtual team for 3+ years.
- Required characteristics: fast learner, detail oriented, decisive, and enjoy fast paced work environments.
- Must work well within and across teams to get things accomplished.
- Possess sales engagement experience estimating and presenting to prospects.
- Minimal travel required, but must be willing to travel on‑site as needed
- Eligible for SC Clearance - you must have been a UK resident for the last five years and be legally entitled to work in the UK
