About the Role
Urology of Indiana is seeking a Board Certified/Board Eligible Urologist to join our growing team as a Urologic Hospitalist . This physician will focus on inpatient urologic care, emergency department consults, hospital transfers, urgent surgical interventions, and care coordination across participating hospital facilities.
This role is designed for physicians who enjoy acute care urology and want to practice in a hospital-based environment without the demands of a traditional outpatient clinic schedule.
Opportunity Highlights
- Dedicated inpatient and hospital-based practice
- Manage urologic consultations, admissions, and inpatient rounding
- Provide emergency department and transfer-center support
- Perform urgent and emergent urologic procedures
- Collaborate closely with advanced practice providers (APPs), hospitalists, emergency medicine physicians, intensivists, and surgical teams
- No outpatient clinic responsibilities
- Predictable scheduling options with shift-based coverage
- Strong administrative and operational support

Responsibilities
- Evaluate and manage inpatient urology consults
- Conduct daily rounds and coordinate discharge planning
- Provide emergency and urgent urologic care
- Perform hospital-based procedures and surgeries as clinically indicated
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality patient care
- Support transfer-center decision making and regional referral management
- Maintain timely documentation and compliance with quality metrics
Qualifications
Required
- MD or DO from an accredited medical school
- Completion of an accredited Urology Residency Program
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Urology
- Eligible for medical licensure in Indiana
- DEA registration and ability to obtain hospital privileges
Preferred
- Experience in hospital-based or acute-care urology
- Strong collaborative and communication skills
- Interest in process improvement, quality initiatives, and service-line development

Reasoning Ability
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have thorough knowledge in computer information systems.
