About the role
This Sr. Copywriter role directly supports the Sr. Copy Manager with a focus on developing creative and promotional messaging for all digital channels including website, email, social media and performance marketing. They must also possess the ability to flex into print, store materials, product naming, brand initiatives, inter-office materials and various other projects outside of our daily operations as needed.
Our ideal candidate is a creative writer and strategic thinker with a love of fashion, retail and shopping in an ever-changing landscape. They must be on top of fashion and cultural trends and can apply them to our storytelling across a variety of channels for maximum impact. A sharp eye for detail and strong organizational skills are a must, as well as the ability to pivot quickly and the agility to serve creative needs as they evolve.
The impact you can have
- Craft clear and compelling promotional language for both in-store and online sales and events.
- Translate seasonal concepts into real-time stories and promotions that communicate newness, trend and value.
- Lead the messaging for Lane Rewards (our credit & loyalty program) including a monthly email newsletter.
- Share proofreading responsibilities with the team for all marketing materials.
- Liaise cross-functionally as needed to stay up on promotional changes and inventory shifts.
You’ll bring to the role
- 3-5 years’ experience copywriting in advertising, direct marketing or publishing
- Background in fashion retail/editorial; Working knowledge of current trends, style, culture and language of fashion world
- Creative work portfolio
- Strong conceptual skills with knowledge of how copy relates to art, design, graphics and typography
- Flexible and willing to pitch in; Ability to multitask, adapt and re-prioritize while thinking creatively under tight deadlines
- Self-motivated with an entrepreneurial spirit; Positive attitude (and a sense of humor)
- Online and Social Media fluency (ecommerce, websites, blogs, Instagram, etc.) with curiosity to learn more.
