About The Role

WHAT DOES A BULK SPIRIT PLANNER DO?

This position supports the Supply Chain Strategy through network planning of spirit supply, optimising for service, cost & cash outcomes.

The role is responsible for managing medium and long-term requirements for supply of spirit inclusive of casks planning, with Bacardi distilleries & maturation sites and key suppliers

This role ensures strategic category sprit lay downs, are both translated and optimised operational outcomes.

This is critical to the long-term success of Bacardi brands & requires a mastery of technical & system skills. Attention to detail, with a strong background in Supply Chain are essential in this role.

RESPONSIBILITIES

WITH OUR CONSUMER AT THE HEART, YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES WILL BE TO

Spirit Availability & plan enablement

  • Responsible for mid & long-term planning of Spirit availability, in line with Master Production Plans
  • Assess & balance network requirements for bulk spirits within your assigned categories
  • Make informed Data-Driven Decisions to maximise material availability
  • Take ownership of any planning issues that arise due to spirit supply & follow up actions especially in the event of spirit shortages that affect production (internal or co-packer)
  • Partner with suppliers, to ensure availability of casks to meet maturation & finishing plans
  • Manage the cask availability process from CAPEX through to filling & empty cask monitoring
  • Generate spirit supply master plan inclusive of NMS filling (weekly 4-16 weeks, monthly thereafter)
  • Close collaboration with supply centre spirit call of teams, ensuring accurate & timely call off vs. requirements
  • Be a custodian of Bill of Materials (BOM) master data, to ensure effective & accurate management of products
  • Ensure on time invoice payments in partnership with BES team to resolve issues, if needed
  • Planning of trial and innovation activity (spirit + cask)

Distillery, maturation site & Supplier Collaboration

  • Key planning contact for Bacardi distillery & maturation sites as well as spirit suppliers, in terms of managing deliveries, sharing forecast (mid-long term) & performance
  • Understand market fluctuations in demand to share insights with distilleries, maturation sites & suppliers to mitigate any risks to supply &/or spirit overstock & write off risks.
  • Support the supply assessment of Long-Term Demand Plans, ensuring robust strategic planning decision making
  • Co-ordinate with procurement and suppliers to establish long-term agreements, set lead times and manage
  • Develop & adhere to Service level agreements with respective suppliers & partner with suppliers to ensure they meet the required performance

Supply Chain Optimisation

  • Proactively look for new ways of working within spirit planning with a continuous improvement attitude to working practices
  • Optimise spirit strategy & working capital to meet business needs, minimising excess & no mover stock to prevent write offs
  • Collaborate with key internal stakeholders (e.g. master blender, procurement, Supply Centre, SQS), to optimise supplier strategies, to deliver the holistic pillars of Bacardi’s sourcing strategy (Sustainability, Value Chain, Partnership, Superior Availability)

Skills/Experience

  • Supply chain roles & experience in planning, purchasing or production planning
  • Strong communication , problem solving, critical thinking, & analytical stills.
  • Technically proficient with strong analytic competence; Expert Microsoft Excel, SAP ECC, SRM & IBP; Power BI is a plus
  • Good organizational skills and strong time management
  • Data driven skills & mindset to problem solving
  • Strong communication, Influencing & collaboration skills
  • Understanding of multisite dependencies & export flows
