About The Role
Position Overview
The Maintenance Sales Representative is responsible for driving growth of the company’s HVAC preventative maintenance agreement portfolio by identifying new opportunities, developing relationships with customers, and converting prospects into long-term service partners. This position requires a proactive sales mindset, strong communication skills, and the ability to consistently generate new business through outbound prospecting, cold calling, networking, and relationship building. The ideal candidate is comfortable creating opportunities from the ground up, managing a sales pipeline, and taking ownership of the entire sales process from initial contact through a signed agreement.
Job Functions
- Business development through cold calling and existing customer connections
- Develop and execute a consistent prospecting strategy to generate new opportunities
- Perform daily outbound sales activities, including cold calls, emails, networking, and follow-up with prospective customers
- Research and identify commercial facilities that would benefit from preventative maintenance programs
- Build relationships with facility managers, property managers, building owners, and decision-makers
- Estimate and develop proposals for new preventative maintenance contracts
- Perform site surveys on equipment (gather manufacturer, model/serial numbers and year), requiring the frequent use of a ladder
- Provide company information/benefits and proposal/estimate for customer
- Gather and input customer information after proposal is accepted
- Check in with customers throughout the year to gauge satisfaction and build relationships (i.e. lunches, customer specific events, Top Golf events, etc.)
- Oversee contract renewal process, meeting with top-tier customers and driving sales
- Analyze cost/profit analysis to determine cost increases based on future labor/material costs
- Meet with customers and technicians to discuss potential scope changes and adding services (i.e. add filter change, equipment added that we don’t currently service)
- Train/review how to use customer portal
- Support service technicians
- Communicate new contract and contract scope changes
- Assist in identifying training that would support future/current customer’s equipment
- Maintain online customer portal, providing technical support as needed, creating reports for customers, use as a selling/retention tool for new and existing customer
- Resolve customer concerns to promote retention. Communicate issues to service team to avoid future issues
Certificates/Licenses/Education
- College degree preferred and/or 2-3 years experience in a business development or sales role preferred
