Role Overview
The Data and Applications team builds analytics, AI-powered tools and data infrastructure that connect data, technology and decision-making across the firm. Team members combine finance and business expertise with technical skills in data engineering, full-stack lifecycle development, system integration and data analytics to deliver technology solutions across corporate functions and client advisory.
PJT Partners is seeking a highly motivated Data Platform Engineer in our London office. This role is part of, and complements, the firm’s broader Data and Applications team based in New York. The ideal candidate is a self-driven who participates in business facing solutions end to end — focus on local stakeholder engagement, designing data models/warehouses, delivering integrations through APIs, and leveraging AI tools. Strong SQL proficiency is essential, complemented by hands-on experience with reporting and low-code platforms.
Responsibilities
Database & Data Engineering
- Design and own the Snowflake data architecture — data models, schemas, warehouses, RBAC, and performance — as the foundation for analytics and applications across the firm.
- Write and optimize complex SQL for extraction, transformation, validation, and ad-hoc analysis against Snowflake and other relational databases and build Python-based pipelines and transformations on top of them.
- Design and maintain integrations to upstream and downstream systems via RESTful APIs, and Core Connectors.
- Develop subject-matter expertise on key data elements, ensuring data lineage and accuracy across the platform and integrated systems.
- Implement data quality checks, automated validation, and testing to safeguard the integrity of enterprise data assets.
- Build and automate departmental workflows, approvals, and notifications using the Microsoft Power Platform (Power Automate/Apps), integrated with Snowflake and integrate systems via APIs.
- Design, develop, and maintain business facing dashboards and reports — custom interfaces and ServiceNow / Workday Reporting Analytics — translating business requirements into clear, actionable views for stakeholders across the firm.
- Provide go-live support, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis across data pipelines, APIs, and application layers, and uphold best practices, data management standards, and governance across the platform.
Qualifications
PJT Partners seeks to hire individuals who are highly motivated, intelligent and have demonstrated excellence in prior endeavors. In addition, qualified candidates will possess the following:
- 6+ years of experience in data engineering, application development, or analytics roles
- Deep Snowflake expertise — data modelling, schema and warehouse design, performance tuning, and RBAC/governance — with advanced SQL, including complex queries and stored procedures
- Working knowledge of full-stack development, building data- and business facing applications (e.g., React front end, Python back end).
- Proficiency in Python for data manipulation, scripting, automation, and API/service development
- Ability to quickly translate complex workflow and integration requirements into application-level solutions
- Experience working in financial services or professional services environments
- Familiarity with low-code platforms (Microsoft Power Platform) and cloud services (e.g., Azure SQL, Azure Functions, Logic Apps) a plus
- Familiarity with ServiceNow and Workday platforms is a plus
