What You Will Do
- Work with multi-disciplinary engineers to propose, design, develop, integrate, and test hardware within the Advanced Airframes mechanical design department.
- Contribute to one or more contract-funded or independent research efforts, each of which is in a different phase of development (proposal, design, or integration/test).
- Communicate with cross-disciplined, diverse engineering team members and suppliers to analyze, model, and document the design and its capabilities and compliance to requirements. Work independently and under limited supervision to act as the responsible engineer for mechanical hardware.
- Supplier support for mechanical hardware and/or sub-assemblies, including material dispositions.. Root cause investigation for mechanical design issues.. Support engineering assembly hardware builds.
- Ensure tasks are completed within the budget and schedule provided.
What You Will Learn
- Mechanical engineering skills which may include: component design, technical data package management, qualification/test support, and proposal support. Experience may be obtained through on-the-job.
Qualifications You Must Have
- Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace, Engineering Science, Physics, Math, or related (STEM) major obtained by start date.
- Experience with CREO (Pro/E) or similar 3D solid modeling software.
- Experience in mechanical sub-systems packaging, materials, thermal analysis, structural analysis, tolerance analysis, energetics principles, control systems, interconnect, airframe, or large assembly development.
Experience may be obtained through on-the-job experience, research, coursework, or projects
Qualifications We Prefer
- Experience with PTC Windchill Product Data Management or equivalent configuration/data management software.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills; both verbal and written.
- Supplier interaction and supplier management experience.

The salary range for this role is 68,900 USD - 131,100 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.
This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
