The Secure Product Solutions (SPS) department is responsible for the design, test and certification of secure mission computers, cross domain technologies, and cryptographic products which equip our warfighters to thrive in today’s multi-domain battlespace. Our department collaborates with portfolio teams across the organization to help capture new business and create security solutions that address our customers’ demanding needs.
The Software Based Cross-Domain Solution within the SPS department is responsible for the development of an application that enables secure transition of data across security levels. The team is looking for a Software Engineer I to support the expansion of our CDS capabilities.
What You Will Do
- Collaborate on System Requirements and Software Development by defining system requirements and translating them into detailed software requirements, UML/SysML models, and diagrams for a large-scale program
- Work closely with other software engineers and team members to ensure clear communication and collaboration, fostering a cohesive, solution-focused environment across multiple disciplines
- Provide direct support to the SBCDS team, answer technical questions and resolve issues promptly to keep development on track and maintain system integrity
- Collaborate with your team to maintain, enhance, and develop software that aligns with customer requirements and meets certification standards, ensuring both functionality and compliance
- Take responsibility for producing high-quality software implementations and integrating them within testing environments, ensuring the code is thoroughly tested and meets all specified requirements
Qualifications You Must Have
- Experience with Embedded Development using object-oriented design
- Experience with development tool sets, for example, Jira, Subversion/Git/Version Management
- Active and transferable SECRET clearance is required prior to start date
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or related Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) major obtained by start date.
Qualifications We Prefer
- Experience with requirements analysis and requirements decomposition
- Experience with virtualization
- Knowledge of microservices, containers and orchestrators
- Knowledge and/or experience with memory-safe applications (Ada or Rust)
- Experience with automated test environments (Python)

- Onsite : Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.

The salary range for this role is 62,900 USD - 119,700 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.
This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
