Intern assignment

Describe the responsibilities and activities related to the Assignment. If relevant, relate these activities to the requirements for completion of the Internship as set by the Institute of Education. Include details of department where the Internship will be carried out.

The internship will be conducted within Shell's Research organization in Amsterdam and will focus on the feasibility assessment of an innovative wastewater treatment technology using wastewater samples from the Shell Moerdijk site. Activities will include literature research, laboratory experiments, data analysis, and evaluation of treatment performance. In addition, a high-level techno-economic assessment will be performed to evaluate the potential value and implementation of the technology. The results will be documented in a final internship report.

Goals and objectives

Describe the purpose of the internship, including goals that are preferred to achieve.

The objective of the internship is to assess the technical and economic feasibility of applying an innovative wastewater treatment process to wastewater streams from the Moerdijk site. The internship aims to generate experimental data, evaluate process performance, estimate the potential economic benefits and implementation considerations, and provide recommendations for further development and potential deployment of the technology.
