About the Role

At Toll Group, we’re seeking an experienced Contract Specialist to provide commercial leadership across our Defence Theatre Logistics portfolio. Based in Melbourne, this role is responsible for ensuring contractual obligations are met, commercial risks are effectively managed, and customer outcomes are delivered. Working closely with Defence customers and internal stakeholders, you will drive contract governance, pricing support, contract performance, risk management and change control activities while supporting sustainable and profitable contract delivery.

A day in the life of a Contract Specialist at Toll Group

  • Support the commercial and contractual management of Defence Theatre Logistics contracts.
  • Partner with operational leaders to support contract delivery, governance and performance.
  • Manage contract variations, changes, extensions and commercial negotiations.
  • Monitor contractual compliance, risk management activities and governance requirements.
  • Prepare commercial reports, business cases and executive briefing materials.
  • Build strong relationships with Defence customers and key stakeholders across the business.

Qualifications

  • Degree qualification in Business, Commerce, Law, Procurement or a related discipline.
  • Formal training or demonstrated experience in contract management, ASDEFCON, Defence contracting or procurement is desirable.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain an Australian Defence Security Clearance.
  • Minimum 3+ years’ experience in contract or commercial administration.
  • Experience managing complex service delivery contracts and contractual risk.
  • Defence, Government industry experience preferred.

Skills & Experience

  • Strong contract management, governance and risk management capabilities.
  • Demonstrated experience in contract negotiations and commercial discussions.
  • Commercial acumen with the ability to balance customer, operational and commercial outcomes.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement, communication and influencing skills.
  • Experience with pricing support, commercial analysis and business case development.
  • Working knowledge of contracting frameworks and procurement requirements.
