About The Role

Connor, Clark & Lunn Investment Management ("CC&L"), an affiliate of the Connor, Clark & Lunn Financial Group, is looking for a Portfolio Management Analyst to join our Vancouver-based Fundamental Canadian Equity Team.

As the PM Analyst, you will own the day-to-day operational management of these portfolios, keeping them running smoothly, driving continuous improvement, and delivering real impact on the team's efficiency, costs, and ultimately portfolio performance. In doing so, you enable our Portfolio Managers to focus their time where it creates the most value: investment decision-making.

This is not a back-office role. You will work daily with Portfolio Managers, research analysts and traders, and have a clear mandate to make the process better. This includes identifying where emerging technologies such as AI and automation can improve the efficiency, robustness and scalability of how we manage portfolios.

CC&L's Fundamental Equity Team is comprised of talented, motivated and entrepreneurial professionals who manage over $22 billion in fundamental Canadian equity mandates. What You Will Do

Ongoing Portfolio Management

  • Monitor, investigate and resolve compliance flags, and manage portfolio-specific constraints and client requirements
  • Monitor portfolio risk and performance attribution, escalating items requiring Portfolio Manager attention
  • Ensure portfolio management systems and tools are running smoothly, troubleshooting issues as they arise
  • Collaborate daily with Portfolio Managers, research analysts and the trading team to keep portfolios operating seamlessly

Manage and Improve Portfolio Management Processes

  • Develop an understanding of the investment, process and systems components required to manage portfolios
  • Own the workflow for process improvement: identify challenges and opportunities, prioritize them, and drive enhancements through to implementation with all stakeholders
  • Play a leading role in how the team leverages AI and automation. Identify practical applications, testing new tools, and embedding them into the portfolio management process so the team stays efficient and competitive as the technology evolves
  • Effectively balance priorities and maintain perspective on the scope and cost-benefit of enhancements

What You Bring

  • Industry Experience: two to five years of related work experience. Strong analytical skills and ability to think critically and creatively.
  • Attention to Detail: A high standard of accuracy. You catch the things that matter in a role where precision protects clients and the firm.
  • Collaborative: Strong interpersonal and communication skills and a desire to work in a team environment.
  • Financial Knowledge : Keen understanding of financial theory and investment management.
  • Process and Systems Knowledge : Keen understanding of process management and a desire to leverage technology to solve problems .
  • Self-Starter : Motivated and willing to take personal responsibility for quality and timeliness of work.
  • Time Management : Proven ability to manage and prioritize multiple ongoing projects, daily responsibilities and understand the broader scope of priorities.
  • Education : A degree in Finance or Computer Science and completion of CFA are all considered assets.
