Job Overview: The Adult Education Coordinator provides administrative and instructional support for adult education programming. This position assists with scheduling, registration, and classroom coordination under the guidance of the supervisor. Work is performed with clearly defined procedures and instructions, with frequent review to ensure compliance. The coordinator provides task-based guidance and coordination to AmeriCorps members and volunteers on clearly defined assignments and supports the achievement of program goals under the supervision of the Youth & Education Manager.
Major Responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to
- Scheduling and coordinating adult education classes.
- Coordinate enrollment and registration process, maintain attendance records, and prepare classroom materials.
- Communicate with community partners for referrals and share class information as directed by supervisor.
- Provide administrative support for volunteers, interns coordination, including scheduling and basic training under supervisor guidance.
- Support grant writing efforts related to Adult Education programming.
- Ensure compliance with established procedures for recordkeeping and reporting.
- Participate in team meetings and staff development activities as assigned.
- Perform other routine tasks as directed by the supervisor.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in education or related field preferred.
- Minimum two years of experience in an education or related field preferred.
- Minimum two years’ experience in adult education programs.
- Basic knowledge of adult education principles and English language instruction helpful.

- Demonstrated success working and communicating effectively in a multi-cultural environment.
- Self-starter with excellent problem-solving skills combined with the proven ability to multi-task, prioritize duties, and manage time effectively.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in work product.
- Ability to effectively communicate clearly and concisely in spoken and written English with people at varying language proficiency levels.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook); ability to use the internet and other digital tools for data entry, research, and problem-solving purposes.
- Valid driver’s license and access to a personal, insured vehicle; willing to drive agency van as needed.
Working Environment
- A combination of standard office environment, remote work, and ‘field’ time within the service delivery area to perform the above outlined responsibilities.
- May require occasional weekend and/or evening work.
Compensation: ($28.94 - $29.90 hourly). Ranges are based on various factors including the labor market, job type, internal equity, and budget. Exact offers are calibrated by work location, individual candidate experience and skills relative to the defined job requirements
