About The Role

Responsibilities

-

Provide day-to-day technical leadership for the RPS technician team.

-

Mentor and train new and junior technicians on equipment operation, troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and safe work practices.

-

Help prioritize daily activities and allocate resources based on production needs and equipment status.

-

Ensure assigned maintenance activities are completed accurately, safely, and on schedule.

-

Perform advanced troubleshooting and repair of Velo3D additive manufacturing systems, including mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, vacuum, cooling, motion control, and process systems.

Perform preventive and corrective maintenance to maximize equipment reliability and availability.

-

Diagnose complex equipment failures and determine appropriate corrective actions.

Assist technicians in resolving complex equipment issues and provide technical guidance during repairs.

Support production by ensuring maintenance activities minimize equipment downtime and maintain printer availability.

-

Create, update, and maintain work orders, maintenance records, equipment logs, and service documentation.

-

Ensure maintenance documentation is complete, accurate, and supports future troubleshooting efforts.

-

Verify spare parts, consumables, and maintenance materials are available to support planned work.

-

Promote safe work practices and ensure compliance with Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), PPE, and company safety procedures.

Identify recurring equipment issues and communicate recommendations to Engineering and management.

Perform other duties as assigned to support manufacturing operations.

Qualifications

  • -
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical degree or vocational training preferred.
  • -
  •  5 + years of experience maintaining complex manufacturing or capital equipment in a production environment.
  • -
  • Demonstrated experience troubleshooting industrial equipment with mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, vacuum, cooling, and motion control systems.
  • -
  • Strong ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, pneumatic diagrams, and mechanical drawings.
  • -
  • Experience troubleshooting sensors, motors, VFDs, relays, PLC-controlled systems, and industrial control hardware.
  • -
  • Strong understanding of preventive maintenance principles and equipment reliability.
  • -
  • Proven ability to mentor and train technicians.
  • -
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • -
  • Ability to prioritize multiple equipment issues in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • -
  • Excellent troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills.
  • -
  • Strong computer proficiency, including Windows operating systems and maintenance documentation systems.
