Description

CAE SIMCOM, a leader in aviation training, is seeking local candidates for an on-call Supporting Crew Member (SCM) opportunity based in Orlando, Florida.

The SCM program trains and qualifies individuals to provide right-seat support for clients participating in FAA-approved 14 CFR Part 142 and authorized contract training under 14 CFR Part 135 curricula at CAE SIMCOM facilities.

This is an on-call position that supports training events as scheduled.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Commercial Pilot Certificate or Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) Certificate.
  • Airplane Multi-Engine Land (MEL) rating.
  • Instrument rating with Airplane Multi-Engine Land privileges.
  • Minimum of 50 hours of multi-engine flight experience.
  • Minimum of 50 hours of instrument flight experience.
  • Minimum of 400 hours total flight time.
  • Must reside within the Orlando, Florida area.
  • Ability to participate in a minimum of 35 training events within a 12-month period to maintain qualification and recurrent training requirements.
  • Ability to commit to approximately 10–15 working days per month.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including assignments that may be scheduled 24 hours per day, 7 days per week.
  • Ability to accept assignments with a minimum scheduled duration of four hours.

Experienced Pilots looking to leave the rigors of a traveling, flying lifestyle but do not wish to retire from their aviation career. This position as an SCM will give you an opportunity to remain in the cockpit, providing seat support for high quality flight training to our clients.

In addition to receiving formal aircraft SIC simulator training for select aircraft types, the SCM will have the opportunity to earn and then attend, at no cost one of the many advanced programs and enrichment courses provided by CAE.

Job Description

INDIVIDUAL CONTRIBUTOR - Fulfills the “Pilot Monitoring” role during Flight Simulator training. Attends all elements of the training event to support client’s training and learning experience, including pre-flight and post flight briefings. Maintains professional conduct in all interactions with clients and instructors. Completes necessary forms and checklists as required for pilot monitoring role.

Incumbent in this role would generally works on simple and defined unskilled tasks requiring limited judgment. Position requires basic skills and little to no prior work experience.
