Job Summary
The Personal Systems Technical Consultant (TC) serves as a trusted technical advisor to HP sales teams, partners, and customers. This role helps drive business outcomes by understanding customer requirements, designing innovative workplace solutions, and aligning HP technologies to customer needs. The successful candidate combines strong technical expertise in Personal Systems with consultative selling skills to influence customer decisions, support strategic opportunities, and position HP as a trusted technology partner. The role requires the ability to engage with both business and technical stakeholders, translate customer challenges into solutions, and articulate the value of HP’s device, security, software, and services portfolio.
Responsibilities
- Partner with sales teams to identify, qualify, and advance Personal Systems opportunities.
- Lead customer discovery conversations to understand business objectives, workplace challenges, technical requirements, and future technology roadmaps.
- Design and position end-user computing solutions that align with customer business and technical requirements.
- Deliver technical presentations, demonstrations, workshops, and proof-of-concept engagements for customers and partners.
- Build and recommend complex Personal Systems solutions including notebooks, desktops, workstations, peripherals, docks, displays, and collaboration accessories.
- Act as a subject matter expert on HP Personal Systems technologies and industry trends.
- Provide technical guidance related to modern workplace solutions, PC technologies, device security, manageability, and user productivity.
- Support technical responses for RFPs, RFIs, and customer solution requests.
- Collaborate with sales, services, engineering, alliances, and partner teams to deliver comprehensive customer solutions.
- Enable internal sales teams and partners through technical training, knowledge sharing, and field engagement.
- Gather customer feedback and competitive intelligence to help improve HP offerings and market positioning.
- Maintain technical readiness across the HP Personal Systems portfolio and associated technologies.
Education & Experience Recommended
- Typically 5+ years of experience in presales, technical consulting, solution architecture, end-user computing, workplace technologies, or related customer-facing technical roles.
- Experience working directly with enterprise customers, channel partners, or strategic accounts.
- Experience presenting and demonstrating technology solutions to both technical and business audiences.

Required
- Strong knowledge of enterprise Personal Systems technologies including notebooks, desktops, and mobile computing devices.
- Strong knowledge of workstation solutions and high-performance computing use cases.
- Strong understanding of PC architectures, operating systems, device management, peripherals, displays, docking solutions, keyboards, mice, and accessories.
- Ability to roadmap, design, and recommend complex PC solutions aligned to customer business, technical, and lifecycle requirements.
- Knowledge of modern workplace technologies, device lifecycle management, user productivity, and endpoint manageability.
- Strong customer discovery and consultative selling skills.
- Presentation, demonstration, and public speaking capabilities.
- Technical problem-solving and solution design skills.
- Relationship-building and stakeholder management skills.
- Passion for PC technologies, workstation innovation, and the accessories ecosystem that supports modern work.
Preferred
- Knowledge of HP Wolf Security and endpoint security concepts.
- Knowledge of HP Workforce Experience Platform (WXP).
- Ability to speak technically about the security, manageability, software, and user experience aspects of the PC portfolio.
- Understanding of device management platforms, endpoint analytics, and workplace experience technologies.
- Knowledge of AI-enabled PC technologies and emerging workplace trends.
- Experience supporting RFP/RFI response activities.
- Industry certifications related to Personal Systems, endpoint management, security technologies, or consultative technical selling.

Compensation and Benefits
The on-target earnings (OTE) range for this role is $109,300 to $158,350 CAD annually with a 80%/20% (salary/incentive) mix. Pay within this range will be based on the review of experience, skills, and internal equity.
As a full time, employee of HP Canada, you will be eligible to participate in the company's group benefit programs, including medical, dental, life insurance, and disability coverage, subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable plans. During your employment term, you will receive 15 paid vacation days per year prorated based on your start date. Detailed information regarding benefits—will be provided upon hire and is subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable plans.
