Master Data Analyst – Sanction Verification Process

About the role

We are looking for a meticulous and analytical Master Data Analyst to support and coordinate our Sanction Verification Process . This role is crucial in ensuring that DFDS conducts business with customers and suppliers in compliance with international sanctions regulations.

You do not need a legal background to succeed in this role. Legal assessments and decisions are made by our Legal Department in Copenhagen. What we need is someone who can gather, validate, structure, and clearly present relevant information, enabling legal experts to make informed and efficient decisions.

Your key responsibilities

  • Manage and support the sanctions verification process for DFDS business partners (customers and suppliers).
  • Collect, validate, and consolidate information from multiple internal databases, systems, and external data verification platforms.
  • Prepare comprehensive and structured documentation for legal review.
  • Ensure high standards of data quality, consistency, and completeness.
  • Coordinate and monitor verification requests received from DFDS entities that are not integrated into the system-based process.
  • Investigate discrepancies, identify missing information, and follow up on incomplete cases.
  • Cooperate closely with Master Data teams, Finance, Procurement, Legal, business stakeholders, and external service providers.
  • Act as a key point of contact for the external sanctions screening platform provider.
  • Support process improvements and strengthen data governance and compliance practices.
  • Stay informed about developments that may impact sanctions screening and compliance requirements

We are looking for someone who has

Professional competencies

  • Experience working with data analysis, master data, compliance, finance operations, or a similar analytical role.
  • Strong ability to work across multiple databases, systems, and digital platforms simultaneously.
  • Experience investigating and validating data from various sources.
  • Ability to transform large amounts of information into clear, concise, and actionable insights.
  • Advanced Excel skills and strong overall digital literacy.
  • Fluent English, written and spoken.

  • The ability to manage and coordinate information across multiple databases and workflows simultaneously.
  • A strong sense of ownership and accountability.
  • Curiosity about the world and an interest in understanding how global events impact business operations.
  • An awareness of how international developments, such as new sanctions packages, geopolitical tensions, conflicts, regulatory changes, or other economic events, may influence sanctions verification activities.
  • The confidence to collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders, from Master Data Specialists and Finance teams to senior leaders, legal professionals, and external business partners.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to present information clearly to support legal decision-making.
