About The Role

We are seeking an experienced Cath Lab Technician with strong Control Room Operator experience to join our growing Ambulatory Surgical Center team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in cardiac and vascular procedures, fluoroscopy operation, hemodynamic monitoring, and control room workflow management to support safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care.

The Cath Lab Technician will collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, anesthesia providers, and surgical staff to provide comprehensive procedural support while maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements, radiation safety standards, and best practices in patient care.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Operate and manage the Cath Lab control room , including fluoroscopy system controls, image acquisition, and procedural imaging support.
  • Monitor patient data throughout procedures, including vital signs, hemodynamics, ECG tracings, oxygen saturation, and other critical monitoring parameters.
  • Serve as the monitor/recorder role by documenting procedural data accurately in the cath lab documentation system.
  • Recognize and immediately communicate changes in patient condition, including arrhythmias, hemodynamic instability, or other abnormalities, to the physician and clinical team.
  • Prepare and verify control room equipment, monitors, and imaging systems prior to procedures to ensure operational readiness.
  • Collaborate with the scrub technician and circulating nurse to maintain efficient workflow and patient safety.
  • Assist physicians during diagnostic and interventional cardiac, vascular, and related procedures.
  • Perform patient preparation, positioning, sterile setup assistance, and procedural support.
  • Operate, troubleshoot, and maintain familiarity with cath lab imaging equipment and technology.
  • Manage image capture, recording, processing, and transfer of procedural images.
  • Maintain radiation safety practices and compliance with ALARA principles.
  • Assist with hemodynamic monitoring, contrast procedures, and accurate procedural documentation.
  • Maintain sterile technique and assist with room turnover, equipment readiness, and procedure preparation.
  • Monitor inventory levels and ensure availability of cath lab supplies, devices, and equipment.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, safety programs, and regulatory compliance activities.
  • Support emergency response procedures and assist the team during critical events.

Requirements

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology, Cardiovascular Technology, or related program.
  • Minimum 2 years of Cath Lab experience preferred .
  • Strong experience operating the Cath Lab control room and imaging systems .
  • Knowledge and understanding of cardiac anatomy, physiology, hemodynamics, and interventional procedures.
  • Proficiency with patient monitoring equipment and cath lab documentation systems.
  • Ability to independently manage imaging acquisition and support physician workflow.
  • Knowledge of sterile technique, procedural safety, and infection prevention practices.
  • Current certifications as applicable:
  • ARRT (Radiography) preferred , and/or
  • RCIS (Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist) preferred
  • Current BLS and ACLS certification required .
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and critical-thinking skills.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience working in an outpatient Ambulatory Surgical Center environment.
  • Experience with cardiac catheterization, peripheral vascular procedures, and interventional cases.
  • Familiarity with Siemens, Philips, GE, or similar cath lab imaging platforms.
  • Experience supporting new facility start-up operations is a plus.
