Summary
As an Oncology Nurse Coordinator, you will play a key role in guiding patients and their families through every step of their healthcare journey. Using the nursing process, you will assess, develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans while proactively anticipating patient needs. Serving as the primary clinical contact, you will provide support, education, and guidance to patients, families, and caregivers, ensuring they feel confident and informed.
In this role, you will coordinate multi-disciplinary and multi-site care, facilitate seamless communication among providers, and organize all necessary education and training for the care team. You will also be responsible for promoting an exceptional patient experience by delivering excellent customer service, managing concerns in a timely manner, and ensuring adherence to treatment plans through ongoing contact between visits.

Starting hourly rate is $51.65. The actual compensation offered may vary based on a candidateās qualifications, skills, and experience.

Qualifications
Required Education and Experience
License Requirement
- License to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of New York.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) or eligibility for certification.
Education and Experience
- Bachelorās degree in Nursing and the equivalent of one (1) year of full-time experience in oncology nursing, medical-surgical nursing, or critical care; or
- Bachelorās degree in Nursing and the equivalent of three (3) years of full-time medical-surgical experience in an acute care setting; or
- Associateās degree in Nursing and the equivalent of three (3) years of full-time experience in oncology nursing, medical-surgical nursing, or critical care; or
- Associateās degree in Nursing and the equivalent of five (5) years of full-time medical-surgical experience in an acute care setting.
NOTES
- Incumbents must obtain and maintain applicable certification, as required by area of specialty and outlined in Departmental procedures, within thirty (30) months of appointment to this position and as a condition of continued employment.
- As a condition of continued employment, incumbents must obtain certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) within six (6) months of their appointment to this title.
- Incumbents must complete twelve (12) cancer-related contact hours per calendar year unless certified by the Oncology Nursing Certification Corporation (ONCC).
- Degrees must be conferred by an accredited school, college, or university, or by an institution recognized by Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center and/or Health Research Incorporated as adhering to acceptable educational standards.
Preferred Qualifications
The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's degree or higher and brings specialized experience in Blood and Marrow Transplant (BMT) and/or Cellular Therapy, along with a strong background in Hematology/Oncology. Candidates should maintain an active professional nursing certification, preferably an ONCC credential, demonstrating a commitment to professional growth and excellence in oncology care. Success in this role requires proven expertise in patient care coordination, the ability to navigate multidisciplinary care environments, and a dedication to providing seamless, patient-centered support throughout the treatment journey.
