Location
The position is located at the Company’s headquarters in Vienna, OH . It is an on-site, non-hybrid role with a Monday – Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. schedule.
Reporting Relationships
The Procurement Specialist will report directly to the VP of Sales, working closely with Customer Service Managers, Plant Managers, Plant Admins, and other cross-functional teams to support the sales function and uphold the Company’s mission and values.
Position Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and results-driven Procurement Specialist to support our manufacturing operations by sourcing, purchasing, and managing the timely delivery of materials, components, and services. The Procurement Specialist will collaborate with internal teams and suppliers to ensure product availability, maintain optimal inventory levels, negotiate favorable pricing and terms, and drive cost savings while meeting quality and delivery requirements.
Requirements
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Procure raw materials, components, equipment, and services required to support manufacturing operations while meeting quality, cost, and delivery objectives.
- Source, evaluate, and qualify new suppliers to ensure a reliable and competitive supply base.
- Negotiate pricing, terms, contracts, and delivery schedules with vendors to achieve cost savings and maximize value.
- Issue purchase orders and monitor order status to ensure timely delivery of materials.
- Collaborate with production, planning, engineering, quality, and inventory teams to forecast purchasing needs and resolve supply issues.
- Maintain appropriate inventory levels by balancing production requirements with inventory carrying costs.
- Monitor supplier performance, including quality, on-time delivery, responsiveness, and compliance with contractual obligations.
- Resolve supplier-related issues, including delivery delays, quality concerns, invoice discrepancies, and product shortages.
- Analyze purchasing trends, market conditions, and material costs to identify opportunities for cost reduction and process improvements.
- Support annual budgeting and cost planning by providing purchasing data and market insights.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Education, Experience, Certification, Licenses or Registration
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field; equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Minimum of 2–5 years of procurement, purchasing, or supply chain experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, and experience using ERP/MRP systems (such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or Epicor).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective relationships with suppliers and cross-functional teams while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
