Planning Engineer

The Pla n ning Engineer is responsible for developing, maintaining, and communicating detailed wafer production pla n s that support customer dem a n d and factory execution. Reporting to the Pla n ning Manager, this individual contributor role partners closely with Sales, Finance, Capacity Pla n ning, Customer Service, Industrial Engineering, and Operations to translate dem a n d signals into executable manufacturing schedules, monitor per for mance to pla n , and identify risks that could impact delivery, cycle time, inv e n t o r y , or customer commitments.

Key Responsibilities

• Support pla n ning execution: Execute day -to- day pla n ning activities including tactical for e c a s t ing support , production scheduling, order review, and coordination with cross-functional stakeholders under the direction of the Pla n ning Manager .
• Part Production Scheduling : Develop and maintain detailed part -level production schedules from order entry through wafer fabrication , escalating conflicts, constraints, and schedule risks to the Pla n ning Manager.
• Dem a n d & Supply Alignment : Partner with Capacity Pla n ning , Sales, Business Development , and Operations to compare part dem a n d against available fab capacity and recommend pla n ning actions to the Pla n ning Manager.
• Part Cycle Time : Work with the Pla n ning Manager to set and update cycle time targets. Track part cycle time per for mance against targets established with Capacity Pla n ning and Area IE teams. Analyze gaps, communicate risks, and support cross-functional improvement actions. Maintain priority allocation inputs based on business, customer, and development requirements.
• Inv e n t o r y Management : Monitor starts, work-in-progress (WIP), and finished goods inv e n t o r y levels to support customer dem a n d while helping prevent stockouts, excess inv e n t o r y , and unbalanced fab loading.
• Customer Service Coordination: Coordinate with customer service representatives on wafer orders, photo mask orders, customer commits, and new part setup activities. Provide pla n ning inputs needed to support service level expectations and accurate customer communication.
• Risk Mitigation : Identify potential supply gaps , schedule misses, mat er i a l constraints, or part production delays . Prepare clear status updates, shortage summaries, and risk escalations for the Pla n ning Manager and operations stakeholders.
• Systems and Data Management : Maintain accurate pla n ning data in ERP/MRP systems and Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES ). Support data integrity , reporting , schedule updates, and continuous improvement of pla n ning tools and processes.

Qualifications

• Education: A Bachelor’s degree or commiserate level of industry experience.
• Experience : 5+ years in semiconductor manufacturing or supply chain management.
• Technical Knowledge : U nderstanding manufacturing science principles, foundry ecosystems, and semiconductor wafer fab processes . Understanding of systems related to factory manufacturing including MES, ERP, Excel, SQL and Power BI or similar. The ideal candidate would have understanding of auto mat ion via Python, R, Power Auto mat e, or other systems that will improve factory system efficiency. ​

What We Offer

Salary : $92,000-$130,000 per year (good-faith estimate)
