Responsibilities
The Change Delivery Manager is the central orchestrator of the Operations Automation Deployment Framework. This role ensures that all automation initiatives move seamlessly through the critical stages (Planning PO - UAT → Process Documentation → Training → Go-Live → Support → Impact Measurement), with clear accountability at each stage and synchronized delivery across Operations.
This is a business-facing role centred on planning, project management, delivery orchestration, change enablement, not technical development which is managed by the technology organisation. The successful candidate will act as the bridge between business stakeholders, technical teams, and operational leadership, ensuring that nothing falls between the cracks and that all deployment initiatives deliver measurable business value.
Key Responsibilities
Framework Governance & Stage-Based Delivery
Own and manage the 6-stage deployment roadmap with clear timelines, dependencies, and stage gate criteria. Define and enforce gate review processes. Hold role leads accountable for stage deliverables: UAT sign-off → Process Documentation complete → Training delivered → Go-live readiness → Support SLA achieved → Impact measured. Make go/no-go decisions with Steering Group. Escalate blockers and risks immediately to sponsor/leadership.
Role Coordination & Accountability
Recruit and staff the 5 core roles (Ops UAT Lead, Process & QMS Lead, Innovation Lead, SME Expert, Change Champion). Ensure role clarity through RACI matrix ownership. Manage role interdependencies so that outputs from one stage properly feed into the next. Conduct weekly 1-on-1 check-ins with each role lead to track progress, identify blockers, and adjust workload. Act as the RACI translator when accountability is unclear.
Steering Group Leadership & Gate Governance
Chair weekly Steering Group meetings (Operations Lead, Innovation Lead, Process & QMS Lead, Change Champion, SME Expert, Finance rep). Facilitate status updates, gate reviews, risk escalation, and dependency management. Maintain Stage Gate Register tracking which gates have passed, which are pending, and which carry risk. Ensure decisions are documented and communicated. Escalate critical blockers to C-level when necessary.
Delivery Timeline & Risk Management
Develop and maintain the master deployment timeline from UAT kickoff through post-launch impact review. Identify and manage dependencies between stages and roles; flag risks where delays in one stage will impact downstream stages. Track schedule vs. planned dates; communicate delays and recovery actions proactively. Maintain RAID log (Risks, Assumptions, Issues, Dependencies); review and escalate weekly. Forecast go-live and impact review dates based on gate outcomes.
Change Communications & Stakeholder Alignment
Develop deployment communications plan covering awareness, training, go-live messaging, and post-launch updates. Partner with Change Champion to ensure local and centralized messaging align. Provide executive reporting and regular updates to sponsor, steering group, and broader stakeholders. Address resistance and concerns early; work with Change Champion to surface and resolve adoption blockers.
Go-Live Orchestration & Support Readiness
Create go-live runbook: deployment sequence, cutover plan, rollback procedures, support escalation paths. Coordinate go-live rehearsals (1–2 dry runs before live day). Act as on-call Command Center lead during go-live; own decision-making on escalations and rollback. Ensure Support Team is staffed and ready. Oversee transition from Innovation Lead to operations support. Monitor support SLA post-go-live; escalate unresolved issues.
Value Realization & Impact Measurement
Define success metrics with sponsor (time savings, cost reduction, quality improvements, adoption %, defect trends). Track KPIs at 1-week, 1-month, 3-month, and 6-month post-go-live checkpoints. Produce Impact Report (Stage 6 deliverable) demonstrating ROI, identifying process improvements, and capturing lessons learned. Ensure feedback loops: use impact data to inform next automation initiative.
Required Qualifications
- Program/Project Management: 5+ years managing complex, multi-stage projects from initiation through closure. Experience with Agile, Waterfall, or Hybrid methodologies. Proficiency with project management tools (JIRA, Monday.com , Azure DevOps, Asana). Strong understanding of gates, stage reviews, and governance frameworks.
- Change Management: 3+ years in formal change management (ADKAR, PROSCI, or equivalent). Experience designing and executing change strategies. Proven ability in stakeholder engagement and resistance management. Ability to diagnose adoption blockers and design targeted interventions.
- Operations & Process Optimization: Understanding of operational workflows, process optimization, and automation benefits. Ability to translate business requirements into technical/process specifications. Familiarity with metrics-based performance management (KPIs, dashboards, reporting).
- Stakeholder Management & Communication: Ability to influence across technical and non-technical stakeholders. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Comfortable facilitating difficult conversations and resolving conflicts. Executive-ready presentations and reporting.
- Orchestration & Coordination: Ability to manage multiple dependencies and moving pieces without direct authority. Strong organizational skills. High tolerance for ambiguity; quick decision-making with incomplete information.
- Risk & Issue Management: Proactive identification of risks and issues. Ability to assess impact and recommend mitigation. Strong escalation discipline. RAID log ownership.
Desired Qualifications
- Background in operations, financial services, or manufacturing (industries with complex multi-site rollouts).
- Experience with automation/RPA/workflow tools and their operational impact. PMP, PSM, or PRINCE2 certification. Lean/Six Sigma or continuous improvement background. Data-driven mindset with comfort in dashboards, KPI tracking, and evidence-based decision-making.
