About The Role

About Bamboo

Bamboo is one of Africa's leading investing platforms, serving hundreds of thousands of retail investors across multiple African markets with access to local and international securities. We're now building the institutional side of that business, giving banks, asset managers, fintechs and corporates the products and infrastructure to invest for themselves and to offer investing to their own clients.

Job Scope

You'll own Bamboo's institutional investing proposition, the products and workflows that let financial institutions and corporates access, manage and operate investment products for themselves and on behalf of their clients. Your remit is the end-to-end institutional experience: onboarding and account management, trading, portfolio management, reporting and the operational workflows underneath.

This is a B2B role. You'll build the proposition in close partnership with institutional customers through deep discovery, design-partner relationships and consultative sales cycles. Working alongside Sales, you'll translate real client needs and pipeline into product priorities, and stay close to your customers throughout their lifecycle with Bamboo.

In the near term, your focus is growing Bamboo's institutional business on two fronts: driving revenue and adoption on the institutional capabilities already live with existing clients, and bringing new instruments and asset classes to market, defining them with early customers and clearing the regulatory and operational path to launch.

What you will be doing

  • Set the strategy, roadmap and priorities for Bamboo's institutional investing proposition, aligned to customer and revenue goals.
  • Work directly with institutional customers to shape the proposition and roadmap around real client needs.
  • Partner with Sales through consultative sales cycles, translating pipeline and client requirements into product priorities.
  • Own the proposition, pricing and positioning for new institutional instruments and asset classes, and drive them to market.
  • Build products and workflows that let institutions onboard, trade, manage portfolios, report and operate at scale.
  • Partner with the Investment Platform team to deliver institutional capabilities across new markets, asset classes and products.
  • Work with Operations, Compliance, Customer Experience and Engineering to deliver reliable, scalable institutional solutions, simplifying operational workflows through automation and better tooling.
  • Use customer feedback, operational insight and product data to improve institutional adoption, satisfaction and efficiency.

What success looks like

  • Revenue growth from the institutional business, across existing capabilities and newly launched instruments.
  • Number of institutions and corporates onboarded and actively transacting.
  • Retention and expansion within existing institutional clients.
  • Successful launch and adoption of new institutional instruments and asset classes.
  • Growth in assets under custody / administration from institutional clients.
  • Reduced onboarding time and manual operational effort per institutional client.

Who you are

  • You have 4–6 years of product management experience, with significant time on B2B SaaS, fintech or financial services products.
  • You have experience owning products for institutional or enterprise customers, and are comfortable working alongside Sales.
  • You have domain grounding in brokerage, wealth management, asset management or capital markets, and experience delivering products within a regulated environment.
  • You have strong direct-discovery skills you're able to turn a handful of deep customer relationships into a coherent, prioritised roadmap.
  • You have commercial acumen: comfortable with pricing, unit economics and the trade-offs behind product and go-to-market decisions.
  • You have demonstrated ownership of complex products with multiple stakeholders and operational dependencies, from discovery through delivery.
  • You have strong analytical thinking, structured problem-solving, and the ability to work effectively with engineering on complex products.
  • You have excellent stakeholder management and cross-functional influence; you're a trusted product voice recognised for domain expertise, sound trade-off judgement, and coaching others.

Nice to Haves

  • Experience supporting products across multiple countries or markets.
