About The Role

Position Summary: The Audio Engineer plays a key role in creating an excellent worship experience by delivering high-quality audio for weekend services, special events, and other ministry gatherings. This position is primarily responsible for Front of House and Broadcast audio, ensuring systems are prepared, services run smoothly, and every environment supports distraction-free worship. In addition to audio, this role provides support for other Front of House production needs, including lighting and media, while helping maintain production systems, invest in volunteers, and continually improve the overall production experience.

Required Expe­ri­ence & Knowledge

  • Ful­fill the char­ac­ter qual­i­fi­ca­tions of a dea­con as taught in scripture
  • Be high­ly moti­vat­ed, ener­getic, and pos­sess strong work ethic/initiative skills
  • Expe­ri­ence with mix­ing live audio
  • Knowledgeable about sig­nal flow
  • Expe­ri­ence trou­bleshoot­ing audio systems
  • Abil­i­ty to learn new equip­ment quickly
  • Abil­i­ty to stand and walk for extend­ed peri­ods dur­ing rehearsals, week­end ser­vices, and spe­cial events (up to 8 hours)
  • Abil­i­ty to reg­u­lar­ly bend, kneel, reach, climb stairs, and work around stage and pro­duc­tion equipment.
  • Abil­i­ty to lift and car­ry up to 50 pounds
  • Abil­i­ty to push or pull rolling equip­ment cas­es, carts, and road cas­es weigh­ing up to 80 pounds
  • Abil­i­ty to adapt and thrive in a rapid­ly chang­ing, dynam­ic environment
  • Exhib­it skill to think quick­ly and react/troubleshoot calm­ly and effec­tive­ly in high-stress situations

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Par­tic­i­pate in week­ly staff meet­ings and spe­cial events as needed
  • Engage as part of a team with Athey Creek staff, always being edi­fy­ing to one another
  • Mix Front of House and Broad­cast audio for week­end and Wednes­day ser­vices, as well as spe­cial events
  • Pre­pare stages and audio sys­tems by com­plet­ing line checks, patch­ing, sound checks, and vir­tu­al sound checks
  • Help set up and strike stages for ser­vices and spe­cial events
  • Trou­bleshoot audio issues quick­ly and calm­ly to ensure smooth, dis­trac­tion-free services
  • Pro­mote vol­un­teer team engage­ment as Train­er and Point of Contact
  • Edit and export Wor­ship Team record­ings; assist in edit­ing teach­ing audio as necessary
  • Assist with spe­cial event stag­ing, rental, pow­er, and oth­er set-up needs
  • Sup­port light­ing, lyrics, and media oper­a­tions as need­ed dur­ing ser­vices and events
  • Help main­tain and orga­nize pro­fes­sion­al audio and pro­duc­tion equip­ment to keep our sys­tems reli­able and ready for ministry
  • Per­form rou­tine main­te­nance and iden­ti­fy oppor­tu­ni­ties to improve sys­tems, work­flows, and the over­all pro­duc­tion experience
  • Serve wher­ev­er need­ed to sup­port Pro­duc­tion across all Athey Creek cam­pus­es, help­ing pro­vide con­sis­tent excel­lence in every environment
  • All oth­er duties as assigned
