Job Description

Job Summary

As a key member of our Pre- Construction Practice, you will collaborate closely with Preconstruction Managers, Project Managers, and AE (Architect/Engineer) partners to deliver consistent, high-quality cost and project support services.

You will be based in our Chennai, India office as part of a global extension of our US-based Preconstruction team, supporting multiple offices and project teams across the United States.

This role is positioned within a growing international capability center and will play a critical role in scaling our preconstruction and project delivery services. You will be empowered to build and lead a high-performing team that enhances efficiency, accuracy, and responsiveness across multiple projects.

Education

Master’s degree / Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture or Similar Degree from Reputed Institution or University with Academic Excellence.

What You’ll Do

Team Leadership & Operations

  • Build, lead, and mentor an overseas cost management and project support team
  • Establish scalable processes, standards, and KPIs for estimating, cost analysis, and document control
  • Manage team workload, utilization, and quality of deliverables across multiple concurrent US projects
  • Provide training and professional development opportunities for team members
  • Serve as the primary liaison between the Chennai team and US-based leadership

Cost Management & Estimating Support

  • Develop and maintain conceptual, preliminary, and detailed estimates in support of US preconstruction teams
  • Perform cost benchmarking, cost modeling, and comparative analysis across project phases
  • Create and maintain cost databases, historical cost libraries, and unit rate benchmarks
  • Support value engineering and cost optimization initiatives throughout design development
  • Assist in review and validation of contractor bids and pricing proposals

Target Value Design & AE Collaboration

  • Partner with AE teams and US preconstruction leaders to support Target Value Design (TVD) efforts
  • Provide real-time cost feedback during design iterations to ensure alignment with project budgets
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and alternative materials or systems
  • Collaborate on constructability reviews and scope alignment with design intent
  • Support milestone estimate updates (30/60/90 percent design phases)

Project Administration & Document Control

  • Provide administrative support for RFI tracking and log management
  • Support submittal tracking, review coordination, and status reporting
  • Maintain procurement logs and bid tracking
  • Maintain organized, accurate, and up-to-date project documentation
  • Support reporting and dashboard development for project status, cost tracking, and workflows

Process Improvement & Technology

  • Drive continuous improvement in estimating tools, workflows, and digital collaboration platforms
  • Support implementation and optimization of systems such as Procore, Bluebeam, and estimating software
  • Identify opportunities to automate repetitive tasks and enhance efficiency through technology

What You’ll Bring

  • 12+ years of experience in construction cost management, estimating, or preconstruction support
  • Demonstrated experience building and leading teams in a global or offshore model preferred
  • Strong background in cost estimating, cost analysis, and construction documentation processes
  • Experience supporting US-based construction or industrial/manufacturing projects preferred
  • Familiarity with RFI, submittal, and procurement workflows within major construction projects
  • Experience working collaboratively with AE teams and understanding of design development processes
  • Knowledge of Target Value Design (TVD) or value engineering methodologies preferred
  • Proficiency with industry tools such as Procore, Bluebeam, Excel, and estimating platforms
  • Strong organizational, communication, and stakeholder management skills
