About The Role

What we do at Detectify

We're Detectify, a cybersecurity company obsessed with making the internet safer. We’re a team motivated by building cutting-edge tech that actually makes a difference. We’re talking about real-life hackers who know their stuff. You’ll learn from the best and join a team that combines human ingenuity with automation to streamline attack surface discovery and vulnerability assessments.

It turns out that our platform is really well-suited as a tool for agents. Coding agents use us to verify their work. Security engineers use us to triage. We have an MCP and we're architecting tools for deeper agentic integrations, and we're experimenting with dogfooding all of it by running coding factories and background agents internally containing full loops from design through development to security verification. It’s not just about doing the agentic thing, it needs to be secure and well thought.

We're looking for a Staff Engineer who lives at the intersection of hands-on engineering, deep knowledge building distributed systems, architecting for agents and building autonomous agentic development workflows.

The problem you will be solving

In 3 months we want a cohesive AI strategy that's actually lived, and an agentic development process that lets us grow alongside the customers we're building for. This is an exciting opportunity to join a company where your contributions are highly valued and you’ll get the chance to make a real difference

We have ~15 engineers across two product teams and a developer experience team. There's real enthusiasm for AI, with a strong emphasis on security. Experiments are happening in every direction. Your job is to bring coherence, not by mandating how teams work, but by building and demonstrating what great looks like, earning trust, and helping everyone move in the same direction.

What you will be doing

  • Building distributed systems
  • Experimenting with local and open weight models
  • Shipping as part of a product team. This is not a strategy-only role
  • Architecting how Detectify exposes itself to agents (MCP design, agentic workflows, tool surfaces)
  • Running real coding factories and background agent loops
  • Coaching engineers across the organization on agentic ways of working
  • Helping set direction on AI adoption within the company
  • Enabling observability, resilience and cost optimization

The Team

You will be embedded in our Attack Surface Management team which is the group responsible for helping customers understand their exposed attack surface. That means building the systems that do reconnaissance at scale, classification of assets, and turn a constantly-changing attack surface into something a security team can actually act on. The team is cross functional and owns everything from idea, development and running things at scale. This is a true opportunity to have a real impact defining what we do, how we do it and realizing it.

Who we are looking for

You have been architecting distributed systems in different companies and domains. You have previous experience of orchestrating multi-agent systems and have hit the hard constraints. You have opinions about when agents help and when they create chaos. You know what it takes for agents to actually run reliably. You're comfortable with not having all the answers, but know how to find them and evaluate them to our context.

You also know that technical work is half the job. The other half is creating alignment, getting everyone moving towards shared goals through results, not only evangelism. That’s why we also think that you have excellent communication and collaboration skills. You really enjoy working with people with different perspectives and ideas, and believe that is what makes the core of a truly innovative team.

Why this is interesting

We're not adding a chatbot. We're a security product that agents actually use in production, and we're building our own development process around the same technology. The feedback loop is short and real.

Hybrid work

This position is for the Stockholm office. We offer hybrid working, with access to our office in central Stockholm and would like to see you at the office at least 3 days per week.

So, what do you think? We are proud to foster an inclusive workplace free from discrimination. We strongly believe that diversity of experience, perspectives, and background will lead to a better environment for our employees and a better product. This is something we value deeply and we encourage everyone to be a part of changing the way the world thinks about security! Go hack yourself!
