Slab Gallery Manager

OVERVIEW

The Slab Gallery Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the slab gallery, ensuring exceptional customer experience while maintaining accurate inventory, operational efficiency, and a safe, organized showroom. This role leads the gallery team, partners with sales and operations, and ensures customers receive expert guidance throughout the slab selection process.

The ideal candidate is a customer-focused leader with strong organizational skills, experience managing inventory, and the ability to build relationships with homeowners, designers, builders, and internal teams.

Essential Responsibilities

Gallery Operations

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the slab gallery to ensure a clean, organized, and welcoming environment.
  • Ensure all slabs are properly displayed, labeled, and easily accessible for customer viewing.
  • Maintain showroom appearance and merchandising standards that reflect the company's brand.
  • Monitor gallery traffic and staffing levels to provide excellent customer service.
  • Demonstrate efficient and safe operation of overhead cranes, forklift, and material-handling equipment to support slab movement, storage, display, and customer selection activities.

Customer Experience

  • Welcome and assist homeowners, designers, builders, fabricators, and contractors during slab selection appointments.
  • Provide product knowledge and educate customers on natural and engineered stone characteristics, finishes, and applications.
  • Coordinate slab holds, releases, and customer selections in accordance with company policies.
  • Resolve customer concerns professionally and escalate issues when appropriate.

Team Leadership

  • Hire, train, coach, and develop gallery team members.
  • Schedule staff to meet business demands while managing labor costs.
  • Conduct regular performance discussions and provide ongoing feedback.
  • Foster a positive, collaborative, and customer-focused work environment.

Inventory Management

  • Maintain accurate slab inventory within company systems.
  • Coordinate incoming slab deliveries and placement within the gallery.
  • Monitor damaged, discontinued, or slow-moving inventory and communicate with purchasing and operations.
  • Conduct routine inventory audits to ensure accuracy.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with Sales, Scheduling, Purchasing, Fabrication, and Operations teams to ensure seamless customer experience.
  • Communicate inventory availability and special-order timelines.
  • Assist with resolving inventory discrepancies and customer order issues.

Safety & Compliance

  • Promote a culture of safety throughout the gallery.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety procedures.
  • Maintain equipment inspections and safe material handling practices.
  • Keep aisles, displays, and work areas free of hazards.

Qualifications

Required

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 3+ years of retail, showroom, warehouse, or operations management experience.
  • 2+ years of leadership or supervisory experience.
  • Strong customer service and relationship-building skills.
  • Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
  • Experience managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and inventory management software.

Preferred

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Management, or related field.
  • Experience in stone, countertop, flooring, cabinetry, building materials, or home improvement industry.
  • Experience with ERP or CRM systems.
  • Forklift certification or willingness to obtain certification.

WORK LOCATION

Onsite – In order to fulfill responsibilities of the Administrative Support Specialist position, this job is required to work in a specific Construction Resources manufacturing, production, or office environment.
